What is 'CIF -Christians Gathering in Fellowship'? Christians Gathering in Fellowship is exactly what the name implies.  We are a group of Christians and interested folk who meet in a simple manner without any particular structure or organisation to share in fellowship around the person of Jesus.  We do this to offer friendship, support, help and encouragement  on a very personal level.
Our conviction is that followers of the Lord Jesus are jointly responsible for these things and not just one or two professional 'ministers'.  We believe the Bible teaches this as the 'self edification of the body by the body' (Eph 4:16).  Therefore the whole purpose of gathering together can be briefly spelled out as...
  • To grow and mature in Christian grace and character
  • To shoulder the joint responsibility of edifying one another
  • To affirm and honour the Spirit of Christ within every believer
  • To participate, not just be a spectator
  • To fulfill the reason for gathering: the fellowship and self-edification of the body
  • To be a vital part of a caring fellowship of believers
  • To take part in personal exchange and meaningful interaction
  • To seek to listen to and apply what the Apostle Paul taught and tried so hard to foster in the gatherings of the saints –all of the above.  (Fellowship, edification, genuine and sincere love and care for one another.)
Some Key Scriptures that we seek to keep in mind and practice in our fellowship together...
‘As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God’.  1 Peter 4:10,
‘How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.’ 1 Cor. 14:26.  (Emphasis mine)·
'From whom (Jesus, the Head of the church) the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplies, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part , makes increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.'  Ephesians 4:16.

'Why Gather?'  this is a discussion of this all important question and what the Bible teaches us about the need for true fellowship that is simple and unstructured.  This document is available in full on this site simply by clicking this link and it will open in your web browser >>> Why Gather?.

I would also like to suggest you read this article: '
The modern church is Constantine’s model'. I cannot give you the author's name, but it is well worth reading and is a thoroughly comprehensive summation in great detail of the deception expressed in all that is called 'church' today. To access click: 'The modern church...'
