Christians Gathering Together in fellowship

If you would like to join other believers in simple fellowship, gathering informally for friendship, help, support, encouragement and The Lord's Supper, please contact us by using the details provide on the 'Contact Us' page of this site.  Thank you.

Brief explanation: Christians Gathering is exactly what the name implies.  We are a group of Christians and interested folk who meet in a simple manner without any particular structure or organisation to share in fellowship around the person of Jesus.  We do this to offer friendship, support, help and encouragement on a very personal level.

Brief description of our faith: We describe ourselves as Bible believing followers of Jesus Christ.  We are non-sectarian and trans-denominational.  In other words you will find folk with connections to many different Christian Churches such as, Baptist, Open Brethren, Presbyterian, Anglican, Roman Catholic and more.  Further...
  • We do not profess to have all the answers, and certainly not 'all the truth'.   But, we are clear on some things, and they are:
  • The Godhead - We understand this to consist of three distinct persons; The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.  By their very nature, as God, we understand this to be a mystery not fully comprehensible to the human mind, but to be a wonderful adventure of discovery in which we are invited to participate.
How To Be Sure of Eternal Life - The (Single) Most Important Thing in the World (for every living, breathing, human being).
  • Sin - is the breaking or 'transgression' of the Laws of God, the Ten Commandments.  These are outlined elsewhere on this site and can be found in Exodus 20: 3-17 in your Bible.
  • We have all sinned and fallen short of God's requirements - Romans 3:23
  • The wages of sin is death - The Bible explains this to be eternal separation from God for ever and ever .  This is a very terrible place, awful to contemplate, but is the physical destiny of all those who have broken God's laws. It is clearly shown to be a place of extreme and constant discomfort, darkness (no light at all) and utter loneliness.  No one in their right mind would want to risk or chance this destiny.  Romans 6:23, Mark 9:43-48.
  • There is only one way of escape - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16.
  • Two things only are required to be sure of forgiveness and to receive the free gift of eternal life - sincere repentance for having broken God's laws and placing our trust in the Saviour, Jesus Christ.  Our sincerity is demonstrated by choosing from that point on to do only those things that please the Father and to live every day in complete trust and dependence on God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit in every aspect of life and to do so in the light of His Word, the Bible.  Luke 13:1-5, Acts 17:30, 2Peter 2:8-10
  • Water Baptism - part of this ongoing discipleship will mean that we choose to follow the example of the Lord Jesus in being baptised  in water by full immersion. Acts 2:38
  • Witnessing for Christ - Jesus promised his followers that He would 'make them fishers of men'.  This means that He would train them by the inward encouragement of the Holy Spirit and His own example, to encourage others to repent and trust the Saviour in order to escape the awful prospect of eternal punishment as well.  Mark 1:16-20, Mark 16:15
  • The Christian Life - the Christian life is a continuance of a life of trust, faith, dependence and sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ.
Fellowship with other Christians is meant to help us to continue to serve the Lord day-by-day.
